What Medi-Cal requires of an ORP
Every Medi-Cal claim for a student service depends on an ORP provider doing two things.
Establish medical necessity
No medical necessity, no claim payment. It has to come from a validated, structured method and hold up if a claim is ever audited.
Carry the liability
The ORP is responsible for the referrals and orders they make. That can fall outside your staff's scope of practice, and many aren't comfortable putting their license behind claims.

What ORP as a Service does not include
Under DHCS rules, our ORP team can't provide clinical supervision, co-sign treatment plans or deliver services directly. Reviews and check-ins are advisory.

Yes. Your practitioners keep delivering services to students. Our ORP team establishes medical necessity and makes the referrals and orders that let those services be billed.
Which services does ORP as a Service cover today?
Behavioral health services billed under the CYBHI fee schedule. Speech and hearing, and physical health services, are on the roadmap below.
