What is CYBHI?
The Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative is California's effort to make mental and behavioral health support easier for young people and families to reach. The school-linked fee schedule is the part of CYBHI that lets schools bill health plans for that care.
Which staff can deliver billable services?
Eligible practitioners include credentialed school counselors, school psychologists and school social workers, licensed clinicians, and Certified Wellness Coaches. We confirm eligibility for each person during onboarding.
Who keeps the reimbursement?
Your district does. Reimbursement goes to fund the student services your schools provide.
Do we need to hire anyone?
Usually not. Most districts bill for care their existing team already provides. Where a claim needs a licensed provider to establish medical necessity, our ORP as a Service team can fill that role.
What does it cost?
It depends on enrollment and the number of sites. We build a custom estimate for each district.
