LEA BOP and SMAA support that protects your funding
We partner with school districts, county offices, charter schools and state special schools to run LEA BOP and SMAA, with consistent, personal service. Beyond the day-to-day work, we help you find more of the reimbursement your program can earn.

Medi-Cal reimbursement for care your schools already provide
The Local Educational Agency Medi-Cal Billing Option Program is a state program overseen by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). It lets districts bill Medi-Cal for health services that qualified staff, such as nurses, speech therapists and mental health providers, give to eligible students. Districts are reimbursed after the services are provided.
When districts capture this funding consistently, they can keep nurses, speech therapists and mental health practitioners on staff instead of cutting positions. Students keep the care they depend on at school, and families aren't left covering the gap.
- Reimburses districts for eligible health services already provided on campus
- Covers services like nursing, mental health and speech therapy
- Requires documentation of services, RMTS participation and annual CRCS reporting
- Funded through federal Medicaid dollars
- Helps sustain the services students, families and district staff rely on

Common questions
Who can join LEA BOP?
School districts, county offices of education, charter schools and other local educational agencies in California can take part. We work with each of them, including state special schools.
What is RMTS?
Random Moment Time Survey. Selected staff answer short surveys about what they are doing at a random moment. The results are used in SMAA claiming and in the annual cost report.
What is the CRCS?
The Cost and Reimbursement Comparison Schedule, an annual report every LEA BOP participant files with DHCS. We help you prepare it.
How does LEA BOP relate to CYBHI?
They are separate programs that can cover different services. Our billing platform already supports CYBHI, and we are bringing LEA BOP into the same platform so you can manage both in one place.
